Will McCord is a graduate of Columbia’s MFA program in screenwriting and directing and been making films for over a decade. He’s made numerous short films, music videos and a feature film that have screened at festivals internationally including New Directors/New Films (presented by MoMA and Lincoln Center), Miami, at Anthology Film Archives, and from Chicago to Austin and Milan.  They have aired on New York’s PBS station, been written up favorably in the New York Times, Indiewire and the Daily News, and received DVD distribution with Film Movement.

He has a script optioned by writer/director/producer George LaVoo (Emmy-nominated A DOG YEAR, Sundance award-winning REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES) and was chosen as 1 of 25 filmmakers to participate in the new IFP/ Film Society of  Lincoln Center program Emerging Visions, held during the New York Film Festival.  CASUAL ENCOUNTERS is his first feature and is the recent winner of the jury award for Best Feature at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival. His recent script, THE CONDUCTOR, was a Sundance Writers Lab finalist and was selected for BVEW’s Screenwriting Career Lab.  He’s currently working on a mystery/suspense film entitled ROOM FOR DOUBT which has a few notable actors attached.

He’s also written, directed and edited branded content and promotional spots that have received production grants and awards at international contests. Brands include American Express, Lenovo, Plated, Sears, Smirnoff, Durex, Friskies, Gillette, AT&T, Edible magazine, the MTA and Purina.  Five have received awards and one had over 1.2 million views on YouTube.

He has also served as a script analyst for the late Alan Pakula, Artisan Entertainment (now Lionsgate), and the Tribeca Film Institute.  He has been on screening committees for three Grand Marnier Film Fellowships, two IFP Film Markets and a NY Asian American Film Festival.  He has programmed film events at Lincoln Center and The Picture House for notable filmmakers and actors including Susan Sarandon, Matt Dillon, Wes Anderson, Benicio del Toro, Gabriel Byrne, Keri Russell, Thandie Newton, Edie Falco, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, Simon Pegg, Paul Dano, Jonathan Demme, and Abel Ferrara, among others.
